UVA's Center for Leading Edge Addiction Research (CLEAR) clinic is the site of ongoing research studies on substance abuse for the Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences. Directed by Dr. Nassima Ait-Daoud Tiouririne and staffed by a dedicated team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and research fellows and specialists, CLEAR hopes to bring new knowledge to better understand the biological underpinning of addiction.
In addition, Dr. Ait-Daoud Tiouririne is the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Director and Associate Director for the Psychiatry Residency Program. The Addiction Medicine fellowship offers physicians the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to evaluate and treat patients with substance use disorders, behavioral addictions, and co-occurring psychiatric and medical conditions.
