The Department of Family & Community Medicine at the UI College of Medicine Rockford has a number active programs focused on addiction medicine; including an inpatient addiction medicine consult service, ambulatory services via a FQHC, and wrap around services with a large county jail where we provide around-the-clock medical services. We are proceeding with a new Addiction Medicine fellowship program and recruiting for additional faculty and an inaugural fellowship director. We also have an 8-8-7 Family Medicine residency program, headache fellowship program, and hospice & palliative medicine fellowship program. Our faculty are active in medical student education, graduate medical education and leadership within the department and medical school. The department also has an extensive research division and supports our physicians in their scholarship. We strive in cultivating new leaders and excellent clinicians.
