Josiah Willingham is a third year pharmacy student at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Josiah is a registered pharmacist intern currently working in the retail setting with an interest in providing services and healthcare knowledge to underserved communities. As a pharmacy student, Josiah has worked to implement prevention and harm reduction programs in the community setting. As a first year pharmacy student, Josiah led the University of Houston chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association to disseminate a student pharmacist led tobacco cessation education and treatment program for persons experiencing homelessness in the Houston area. His efforts were supported by a competitive grant from the Walmart Prescription for Service competition. He is eager to continue his work in treatment and harm reduction for vulnerable populations in Houston and beyond. In addition to his research, Josiah is currently the chapter president of Student National Pharmaceutical Association at University of Houston and frequently attends health fairs to educate on various health topics, including naloxone administration.
