Dr. Ethan Cowan is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine. For the last 15 years he has used his formal training in clinical research methods to coordinate and conduct randomized controlled trials and cohort studies in the Emergency Department (ED) setting. In the area of public health, Dr. Cowan has developed programs for HIV, HCV, STI and SUD screening in the Emergency Department. Currently, he is a Sub-Co-Investigator on the NIDA CTN-0069 “Project ED Health” and Co-I on NIDA CTN 0099 "ED INNOVATION".
