Addiction Medicine Fellow
Rush University Medical Center
Dr. Tiffany Tahata is an addiction medicine fellow at Rush University Medical Center. She was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai’i, and completed her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. She left the islands to attend medical school at RVUCOM in Colorado and completed her internal medicine residency at the Community Memorial Health System in Ventura, California. Dr. Tahata had an early interest in addiction medicine and was inspired by the patients she met as a medical student and as a resident. She learned of her patients' struggles and witnessed how treating addiction transformed and saved lives. She realized the need for addiction treatment in the community. Her hope is to advocate for people struggling with substance use and to help eliminate the stigma surrounding it. Outside of work, she loves spending time with friends and family, all things art and music, and being active - when she is not outside running, she can be found playing volleyball, climbing, or paddleboarding at the beach.
