Alison Holt, MD is a PGY-2 Resident Physician in Family Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill. She received her B.A. in Psychology with minors in Biology and Neuroscience from Elon University in 2016. She worked as a research assistant in a clinical laboratory examining the relationship between cardiovascular health and PTSD for 2 years prior to enrolling in medical school. She completed medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA in 2022. As a medical student, she co-founded the Addiction Medicine Interest Group, volunteered at a clinic providing MOUD for a largely unhoused population, and engaged in advocacy work promoting the use of non-stigmatizing person-first language in healthcare. She will be applying into Addiction Medicine fellowship following the completion of residency training.
