Mr. James Wong is a MSc in Experimental Medicine student in the Addictions and Concurrent Disorders Research Group at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Department of Psychiatry. He holds a BSc in Biology and Behavioural Neuroscience from UBC. His research interests include opioid use disorder, vulnerable populations, and e-mental health. He is a Co-Investigator of the first randomized controlled trial which compares buprenorphine/naloxone rapid micro-induction with standard induction. He also leads a study which examines the risk and protective factors for opioid overdose during the dual public health emergencies of the overdose crisis and Covid-19 pandemic.
