Marlene Martín, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCSF and hospitalist in the Division of Hospital Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital. She is board certified in Addiction Medicine and Internal Medicine and founding director of the Addiction Care Team (ACT). ACT is a consultation service that provides evidence-based care focused on innovations in harm reduction, treatment, and linkage to care to hospitalized patients with substance use disorders. Dr. Martín is also the Director of Addiction Initiatives for the UCSF Latinx Center of Excellence and collaborates with community based organizations to address the addiction crisis through community health workers/promotores. She is currently the Program for Eduction in Drugs and Alcohol for Latine (PEDAL), which educates Spanish speaking promotores about addiction and empowers them to communicate with community members about substance use, recognize unhealthy use, and link community members to services.
