Cassandra Chioma, MD is an Addiction Medicine Fellow at the University of Maryand Medical Center. She completed medical school at American University of the Caribbean and completed Internal Medicine residency at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and has worked as a hospitalist. Her primary interest is in the treatment of substance use disorders in the inpatient setting and she plans to continue research in this area. She is passionate about educating healthcare providers about the treatment of substance use disorders as well as bringing awareness to the stigma and biases that patients with substance use disorder face in the healthcare setting.
