Surveys of healthcare providers indicate that one of the most distressing features of clinical practices is that of patient non-adherence. Managing patients with chronic pain requires a multi-modal approach that relies heavily on patient adherence. This presentation will address the history of adherence in medicine, strategies to assess adherence and promote adherence in patients suffering from chronic pain.
