Substance use disorders are highly prevalent in the incarcerated population, and care providers working in correctional settings face increasing challenges to provide safe withdrawal management, timely OAT initiation and treatment, and psychosocial interventions to address the burgeoning morbidity and mortality associated with the opioid crisis. Presentations from four countries will explore successful interventions that overcome the barriers to care in diverse political and cultural settings.

Appreciate the complex interactions between substance use, mental health and medical disorders in incarcerated individuals, and the challenges to providing holistic care in this setting
Describe various practices/strategies/approaches for the management of addiction and related health issues, including harm-reduction interventions, in culturally and politically diverse settings.
Reflect on potential adaptation of the shared experiences to care provision in local carceral settings, and improving the transition from custody to community care.
