With an increasing number of patients on medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) it's important for providers to understand how to treat acute pain in hospitalized patients. This introductory-level didactic section will highlight the basics of acute pain management in patients who are on buprenorphine, methadone, or extended release naltrexone for OUD. We will cover the basics of how to optimize MOUDs for pain management, when to add additional analgesics, and how to handle MOUDs in the perioperative setting.

Upon completion, participant will be able to define what potential additional opioid and non-opioid analgesics can be added on to MOUDs to optimize acute pain
