Director of Addiction Medicine/Site Medical Director

Dr Dorian Jacobs is a graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine where she obtained her medical degree. Her residency in emergency medicine was at Hahnemann University Hospital/ Drexel University College of Medicine; she then completed a fellowship in medical toxicology, also at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine. She is board certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine for both emergency medicine and medical toxicology and the American Board of Preventative Medicine for addiction medicine.
She has spent the last 10 years practicing emergency medicine and medical toxicology, both at academic trauma centers and in community settings. She helped develop and promote the Emergency Medicine residency program at Crozer Chester Medical Center (CCMC); she then became a core faculty member of the CCMC Emergency Medicine residency program once it was accredited and active. She was the director of medical toxicology at CCMC and developed the residency program rotation for medical toxicology in addition to running a medical toxicology consulting service for inpatient and emergency department patients.
In 2021, Dr Jacobs became the site medical director of Riverside Correctional Facility, part of the Philadelphia Department of Prisons (PDP). As the opioid epidemic magnified, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Jacobs obtained her board certification in addiction medicine and subsequently assumed the role of Regional Director of Addiction Medicine for YesCare, the private corporation that staffs the medical and psychiatric components of the PDP.
Dr Jacobs is a member of the American Academy for Emergency Medicine, the American College of Medical Toxicology, the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology and the European Association of Poison Centres and Clinical Toxicologists, in addition to the American Correctional Association.
