Residential Program Supervisor
Fora Health, Oregon
My name is Chelsea L. Hawes, AAS, CADC II, QMHA I, CRM II and I currently work at Fora Health, located in Portland, Oregon, as a Residential Program Supervisor. I am a dedicated and compassionate addictions provider with a profound personal journey of recovery from alcohol and drugs for the last 9 years. With seven years of extensive experience in the recovery field, I have cultivated a deep understanding of the addiction treatment world, to include my experience with nearly all ASAM levels of care.
My aspirations for the future reflect my commitment to continuous growth and advocacy within both addiction and mental health. Eager to expand my expertise, I aims to complete my education while delving into the intricate realms of legislative frameworks shaping addiction policies. My keen interest in grant writing and non-profit structures underscores my dedication to fostering innovative solutions in behavioral health.
Currently, I serve in a pivotal role where I supervises the clinical team, overseeing addictions counselors and dual diagnosis specialists. I enjoy my job everyday because not only do I get to help our patients, but also get to bestow all the clinical skills that others have taught me over the years.
My recent interest lies in addressing the unique needs of stimulant primary patients with high acuity mental health conditions, particularly those with diagnoses exhibiting psychosis symptoms. Recognizing the underrepresentation of this demographic, I advocate for better access to treatment, emphasizing the importance of an ASAM 3.7 LOC from day one to ensure comprehensive care and support for these individuals.
My unwavering dedication to addiction treatment and advocacy epitomizes my commitment to facilitating positive change within the field, one patient at a time.
