Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry

Matisyahu Shulman MD is a research physician at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. His research focuses on multisite clinical treatment trials for opioid use disorder. He is a lead investigator or co-investigator on multiple large NIDA Clinical Trials Network studies on opioid use disorder treatment. He is also a clinical expert as part of the Opioid Response Network and has been involved in several community-based initiatives to increase awareness and decrease stigma in the area of substance use disorders. He sits on the advisory board of the Communities Confronting Substance Abuse Organization and co- founded and is the volunteer co-leader of a support group for family members of those suffering from substance use disorders.
