Director of Pharmacy Services
University of Washington Medical Center, Washington
My name is Elaine Huang, PharmD, MHA, and I am the Director of Pharmacy at the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake Campus and the University of Washington Medical Center Northwest Campus. For over 15 years, I have dedicated my career to UW Medicine, where I have had the distinct pleasure of oversseing the safe delivery of medications. As the Director of Pharmacy, I lead a dedicated team of 270 FTE staff, working collaboratively to ensure the highest standards of pharmaceutical care for our patients. I completed my Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Washington. Eager to further contribute to healthcare administration and pharmacy leadership, I pursued my PGY1 and PGY2 Residency in Health-system Pharmacy Administration. Simultaneously, I pursued and earned a Master's in Healthcare Administration (MHA), fortifying my commitment to advancing pharmacy services within the healthcare system.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my tenure at UW Medicine has been the opportunity to work alongside a team of highly trained clinical pharmacists specializing in pain and addiction, physicians, and nurses on initiatives to address the unique needs of patients grappling with addiction. My journey has been shaped by an unwavering commitment to patient care, excellence in pharmacy practice, and a dedication to advancing the field of addiction medicine.
