Clinical Director and Co-Founder
The Everly Project, Oregon
Annie received a Master’s Degree in Social Work at Portland State University where she focused on clinical social work in health care settings. She also holds degrees in philosophy and liberal studies. She has worked in the social work field since 2015, in crisis and healthcare settings, and, most impactfully, working with people who are unhoused in the greater Portland, Oregon area. Although Annie values the education she received in school, she credits much of her learning and development over the years to conversations and experiences with people who use drugs. On our team, she strives to support and nurture the work of people with lived experience, whose unique knowledge is integral to harm reduction work but who rarely get the support they need in work settings. One of Annie’s biggest passions and her vision for Everly, is to provide low barrier, completely free counseling services to people who would otherwise be without adequate, judgment free, and skilled counseling. She is especially interested in working with women, LGBTQIA+ folks, BIPOC, and with sex workers, with a focus on trauma processing and healing. Annie’s clinical work is informed by anti-racist, disability, feminist, intersectional epistemologies, which challenge power dynamics and focus on creating thriving, collaborative communities both within our organization, within the harm reduction community, and beyond. Please feel free to reach out to Annie via email at annie@everlyproject.org.
