Volunteer
Portland People’s Outreach Project (PPOP), Oregon
My name is Andy Cho and I am a volunteer at Portland People's Outreach Project (PPOP). I often call myself the janitor of PPOP's warehouse - I take out the garbage and recycling, I sweep and mop, and I clean toilets in our drop-in center as a labor of love for our participants and fellow volunteers. I have other affiliations, but I will not be representating them in this presentation.
Through my work at PPOP, I strive to humby serve and uplift people in our community. Many of those people mentioned being people who use drugs, people living outside, sex workers, people living with HIV, queer and trans people of color (especially those who are Black and Indigenous), disabled people, people living in rural areas, and many others whose lives are most impacted by the war on drugs.
I do not feel comfortable disclosing more of my personal life and indentities as they are sacred to me. Please reach out if you have any inquries, I will be more comfortable in a personal conversation.
